’91 Honda

One man had his foot pinned down after a motor vehicle accident at around 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the 3500 block of Red House Road between Fox Ridge Lane and Central Church Road.

According to the Virginia State Police today, Fabian Right was traveling southbound on Red House Road (Route 727) in a ’91 Honda when the vehicle crossed the double center line and struck a 16 Dodge Caravan going northbound.

The front end of the ’91 Honda was damaged, and Right’s foot was stuck in the vehicle. Several Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department trucks responded to the scene, and the vehicle was cut to free him from the vehicle.

Ambulance crew also responded, and a helicopter was put on standby.

The state police said that Right was taken to the hospital and is getting released today. There were no injuries to the other driver.

Traffic was blocked as a result of the incident, and passerby drivers were rerouted by taking Fox Ridge Lane and Central Church Road.

Right was charged with failure to keep center of the highway, driving with a suspended license, and no insurance.

The Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office also responded. Crews were on the scene for several hours.
