Milfred G. Beane

Milfred “Mick” Grayson Beane, of Stonewall Road, Concord, died Friday, June 14, 2019, at Runk and Pratt of Forest. He was the husband of the late Nannie Roberts Beane.

Born in Caldwell County, N.C., on May 19, 1929, he was a son of the late Martha Gragg and Milton Elkanah Beane. He served his country proudly as a member of the U. S. Army. Mick loved his adopted home community of Concord and actively served it in various ways. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 69 years where he served in the church choir and as song leader. Mick was a charter and lifetime member of Concord Fire Department; served as secretary and treasurer of Chestnut Mountain Hunt Club; and was a founding member of the Three-In-One gospel quartet. He retired after more than 40 years from Burrus Lumber Company.

Mick is survived by his children, Jeffrey Grayson Beane and wife, Melissa of Forest, and Nancy Beane Dellinger and husband, Kyle of Cary, N.C.; one grandson, Staff Sargent Christopher Grayson Beane and wife, Ashley, stationed at Offutt Air Force Base; two brothers, Malvin Beane and wife, Kathryn of Morganton, N.C., and Maynard Beane and wife, Doris of Midlothian; a sister, Myrtle B. Black of Conyers, Ga.; and numerous well-loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marshall and Morley Beane and two sisters, Mae B. Packard and Mabel B. Lewis.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Calvary Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Chad Harris and the Rev. Frank Casper. Burial followed in the Concord Cemetery.

The family received friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 17, and other times at the residence.
