Virginia State Police has reported that an 82-year-old man was killed in a vehicle crash on July 19, 2024 at 5:10 p.m. on Red House Road in Appomattox County.

According to authorities, Samuel H. Robinson of Appomattox was driving a Chevrolet Express van northbound on Red House Road, a half-mile north of Cub Creek Road, when he crossed the center line, overcorrected, went off the right side of the road and hit an embankment. The van overturned and Robinson was thrown from the van.

Police say that Robinson was not wearing a seatbelt and he died at the scene.
