Summer camp participants do drills with musket replicas.

Appomattox Courthouse National Historical Park announced a virtual Civil War Summer Camp starting on July 27 and running through July 31.

Virtual campers will take part in up to two 32-minute programs a day for the week. The campers may attend all or some of the sessions.

There are no fees, but one must pre-register by contacting the park’s Education Coordinator, Brandon Chamberlain at Brandon_Chamberlain@nps.gov or telephone (434) 352-8987, ext. 231.

When registering, include which sessions the child would like to join or indicate all sessions. Space is limited to the first 15 campers to sign up.
