At Monday night’s meeting of the Appomattox County Board of Supervisors, the board approved and presented a Resolution of Appreciation for George Johnson, who announced his retirement effective Dec. 31 after serving the county for 21 years.
According to the resolution that was read aloud by Board of Supervisors Chairman Samuel Carter, Johnson began working for Appomattox County as a truck driver and acting assistant landfill supervisor in 2000.
