The Appomattox Town Council held its workshop meeting with a company director and the town’s facility manager of public works Feb. 22.

Brown Edwards & Company Director Susan H. Chapman provided updates on an audit of town finances to council members. She said the audit and all of its testing went well. Chapman also announced federal rewards that were received by the town.

Included with this list was a summary of financial reports. Chapman added that tax balances and fund balances were increasing with a “healthy” fund balance.

Total annual general fund expenditures amounted to $2,096,0000 (about $175,000 a month).
