At the Feb. 9 town council meeting for Pamplin City, Mary Hinds of Pamplin Area Legacy Supporters (PALS) said the LOVE sign project is moving forward. PALS has sent out numerous letters and stirred up publicity in search of art submissions.

Art submissions are due March 15. Winners will be announced April 1.

Because the LOVE sign project is a PALS and town partnership, Hinds said she hopes someone from the town council will join the panel of jurors for the art submissions.

Another project in the works is the Dolly Parton Literacy Program. PALS’ Mary Cush said she hoped the town would collaborate on bringing the program to Pamplin.

“We’re still in the organizing phase, figuring out how the program works,” said Cush.
