New hands-on training for Lynchburg students is coming to Central Virginia Community College in Fall 2024.

The focus of the Lab School will be credentialed career preparation in electrical technology, HVAC, welding, cybersecurity, health sciences, manufacturing, and public safety, with the goal for high school seniors to graduate with an advanced or standard diploma and a minimum of two collegiate-level academic credentials (32-40 credits) and/or industry-recognized credentials.

In full partnership with school superintendents at five school divisions, including Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, and the City of Lynchburg, the initiative aims to create seamless CTE pathways that extend from middle school, to high school, to CVCC, to career.
