Shortly after 8:30 p.m. tonight, a one-car wreck at 7640 Red House Road in Appomattox County was caused when the driver swerved to miss several pigs.
According to a Virginia State Police trooper at the scene, a 2013 Kia SUV was traveling south on Red House Road and veered left to miss the large pigs but ended up overturned down an embankment.
The male driver of the vehicle was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, including an injury to his hand, according to the trooper.
Three pigs were seen wandering around in the area after the crash but none appeared to be injured.
The name of the driver was unavailable at the time of this report.
