Buddy was a hero to his children, Jody Lee Hackett and wife, Nicole and Jamie Hackett Bryan and husband, Justin. He leaves behind the pride and joy of his life, his six grandbabies, Zoee Stinson, Brayden Hackett, Gabe Stinson, Reese Bryan, Maylee Hackett, and River Bryan. Born in Charlottesville, Va., on March 3, 1951, he was a son of the late Dorothy Bryant and Hampton Hackett. Buddy was an avid hunter, fisherman, family man, and a man who genuinely loved God. His faith sustained him through many of the rough times in life. Buddy also enjoyed small engine repair. He helped for many years in his family’s business, Hackett’s Chain Sales in Appomattox. He could take a power saw apart and put it back together again.  He said, “God told him how to do it”. He passed his skills to his son and his grandson.

Buddy loved attending church every Sunday at The House of Prayer with Pastor Kathy Seay. She is an amazing person with an incredible testimony and Buddy loved her dearly.
