After being closed for more than two years due to the pandemic, Virginia’s Executive Mansion has reopened its doors. Beginning on Sept. 2, the historic mansion, which is the oldest governor’s home in the United States, will be open for public tours every Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
‘The Art Experience’ exhibition features artwork and artifacts that illustrate Virginia’s rich history and spirit. The exhibition highlights Virginia’s landscape, people, and history with special attention on artists and themes of the Commonwealth. Docent tour guides will take visitors through the first floor focusing on the mansion’s decor and iconic objects. Throughout the tour, visitors will hear anecdotes and stories about former governors and their families.
