Spring has finally arrived, and the Jamerson Library has been doing some extra work to get ready for our upcoming programs, displays, and of course the 2023 Summer Reading! This year’s summer reading theme is “All Together Now” and will feature our annual “Fun & Craft Day in Abbitt Park,” two family-style Story & Craft Times, and reading with the ability to earn prizes. This year we have changed our reading groups around to reflect how the Library of Virginia keeps statistics, as they sponsor many programs, including summer reading and free online interactive venues for all Virginia libraries.
The library staff is still putting out some of our newly purchased collection of children’s DVDs, and BLU Rays. These items were purchased from the Dorothy Louise Kyler/John Henry Eldred, Jr. Foundation Grant and are on display near the front circulation desk were the other new to the library movie titles are located.
There’s more to this in the current issue of the Times Virginian newspaper. Support local journalism by purchasing the issue at a local newsstand or subscribing at www.timesvirginian.com/subscriber_services to receive the print edition or view the full article in the e-edition version.
