Spring is almost here, and this is the perfect time to do some spring cleaning. The library accepts donations of books, magazines and movies with the understanding that if we cannot use them we will put them in an ACLA (Appomattox County Library Association) book sale, give them to another organization, or dispose of them.
At the first of March we started our next free raffle “Lucky Scout,” featuring a TLC (The Library Cooperation) puppy plushie named Scout, and a container of assorted candies. It is one chance per visit, per patron and we will announce the winner of “Lucky Scout” on Friday, March 25. You do not need to be present to win.
On Tuesday, March 15, the library hosted “Library For All,” a program for all ages, all skill levels. We provided all the materials needed to make a gnome leprechaun candy sleeve filled with assorted Hershey nuggets wrapped in St. Patrick’s Day scrapbook paper and tied up in green ribbon. The next Library For All event will be on Tuesday, April 12, starting at 11 a.m.
For the Wednesday, March 16, Preschool Story & Craft Time, we hosted an ACLA (Appomattox County Library Association) volunteer Doris, as she read the book “The Night Before St. Patrick’s Day” by Natasha Wing. We followed up with making a rainbow craft and provided snacks. On Wednesday, March 23, the library will host the Master Gardeners Club of Appomattox. We will be just as surprised as everyone else to see what story and craft they will be presenting. Start times are 11 a.m. and noon, so make plans to join us for either event.
Cruise down the Amazon river for a fun, family-friendly and action packed Jamerson Movie on Thursday, March 17, starting at 6 p.m., and again on Thursday, March 24, starting at 3:30 p.m.
ACLA will be hosting a pop-up Spring Book Sale on the main floor of the library, staring on Monday, March 28. Items featured are adult fiction and DVDs. Most will be 50 cents each, and all proceeds will benefit the Jamerson Library.
