The second Jamerson Library Plant Swap was a success! Lots of patrons brought in plants and exchanged them for new ones to take home. This year we had a lot of herbs, hostas, tomatoes, succulents and a full variety of houseplants. We even had a huge pumpkin vine! The staff looks forward to hosting another Plant Swap next year.
Be sure to stop by the library’s circulation desk and ask for a tea/biscuit favor to help welcome our “sister library,” Taverham Library, located in the County of Norfolk, England. One favor per customer, while supplies last.
June is named after the Roman goddess Juno, patroness of marriage and the well-being of women. June is: Adopt-a-Cat Month, Dairy Month, Perennial Gardening Month, Foster a Pet Month, LGBT Pride & Book Month, Camping Month, and National Zoo & Aquarium Month, just to name a few.
We are counting down the days to our 2021 Virtual Summer Reading “Tails and Tales” which will start on Monday, June 7. We will be highlighting fairy tales and “tails” about animals. Come check out our book displays reflecting this year’s theme, our display case highlighting two local animal shelters, donate pet-related items under our “Willow’s Tree,” and follow Miss Willow Jamerson on her Facebook page @MissJamerson. For more information about the Summer Reading Program, and to get started you can visit: https://sites.google.com/jrjml.org/jamersonmemoriallibrary/home.
Don’t forget about the Summer Reading Virtual Pet Show from Monday, June 14 through Friday, June 25. Post a digital photo of your fur friend on social media, write a few sentences about your pet, and tag us using #JamersonLibraryPetShow. We can’t wait to see all the cute and unique pets!
