The 2022-23 regular season is winding down for the Appomattox Raiders boys and girls basketball teams.
The varsity boys team, which currently stands at 2-16 (1-8 in the Dogwood District) will host Nelson County tonight. The Raiders earned their second win of the season Friday night at Nelson County by a score of 59-55.
Appomattox had lost a home matchup to Dan River by just two points, 26-24, on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
On Friday, Appomattox will host Gretna on Senior Night.
The regular season wraps up for the boys Tuesday in a road game against William Campbell.
On the girls side, the Raiders have an 8-11 record (5-4 in the Dogwood District).
In the past week, Appomattox defeated Dan River on the road by a score of 58-49 on Tuesday, Jan. 31, lost to William Campbell on the road, 39-23, on Feb. 1, and defeated Nelson County 27-20 at home Friday night.
Appomattox and Nelson County will face each other in a rematch tonight at Nelson County High School. The Raiders also travel to Gretna on Friday night.
Senior Night will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, in a home game against William Campbell.
Regional playoff schedules will be determined when the regular season is completed.
