Appomattox softball champion Kelsey Hackett commits to UVA

Another member of the 2021 State Champion Appomattox Raiders softball team has made a decision on where she will play at the collegiate level.

After considering a handful of college softball programs, Raiders senior shortstop Kelsey Hackett has chosen the University of Virginia Cavaliers.

Hackett was the Raiders' leadoff hitter and catalyst who set the tone for the team offensively in 2021 with her ability to get on base and as a constant threat to steal.

In committing to the Cavaliers, Hackett joins fellow Raider Courtney Layne, the team's starting pitcher, who committed to UVA last year.
