Cline Leslie Dunbar Sr., 86, of Appomattox passed away Friday, October 18, 2019, at home. He was the husband of Nancy Lee Niday Dunbar.
Mr. Dunbar was born in Botetourt Co. May 26, 1933, a son of the late Chan Hamlet Dunbar and Daisy Bell Broughman Dunbar. He was a member of Staunton River Baptist Church and a retired farmer.
In addition to his wife, he survived by three sons, Timothy Dunbar of Brookneal, Cline L. Dunbar Jr. (Vera) of Sumter S.C., Randy Nelson of Texas; four daughters, Sheryl Lemar (David) of Madison Heights, Theresa Martin (Roger) of Charlotte C.H., Mary Shrewsberry (Keith), and Lisa Dunbar (Walter Gauvain), all of Appomattox; nine grandchildren, Brandon and Timothy Dunbar, Donna Tyree, Jessica Lemar, Brian and Alan Dunbar, Kevin Martin, William and Nathaniel Shrewsberry; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jack, Chan, and Dennis Dunbar; three sisters, Sylvia, Ruby, and Bernice. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Kevin, Cline, and Mary Franklin; four brothers, Hubert, Carl, Larry and David Dunbar; and a sister, Claudine Jacques.
A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Staunton River Baptist Church Cemetery by Pastor Duane Seagle.
The family will receive friends at the home other times.
