Appomattox County High School evacuated staff and students as a result of a threat on Friday. The school re- leased the following statement that same day:
“Please be aware that a threat has been made at Appomattox County High School warranting an evacuation of that building. High school students will be dismissed to their homes. If your student rides a bus, they will be taken home on school transportation. Student drivers will be released to their cars. Any parent wishing to pick up their high school student may do so at the ticket booth of the football stadium. If you decide to pick up your high school student and have other children in our schools, please only pick up your high school student.”
As a result, the Raiders scheduled Friday night home football game against Lord Botetourt was canceled, as well as all other weekend school activities. As of press time, a makeup date for the football game had not been announced.
