Appomattox Court House National Historical Park and the Appomattox 1865 Foundation announced dates and performers for the annual Sweeney Summer Concert Series. The public is invited to join in celebrating the musical history of Appomattox County with this monthly series on the McLean House porch.

All concerts begin at 6 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket to take in the music and historic setting. Food and drink are welcome (alcohol is not permitted on park grounds). All shows are free and open to the public.

The Sweeney concert series pays tribute to the local musical Sweeney family, including the renowned popularizer of the banjo, Joel Sweeney.
