The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 104 in Appomattox announced the selection of delegates to the 2022 Virginia Girls State.

The delegates will be Catherine Thomas and Hudson Robertson of Appomattox County High School and Reece Sheldon of Cornerstone Christian Academy.

The Girls State program was established for rising high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding qualities of leadership in school and the community. The program emphasized training in local and state governments and how the government operates on different levels.

Girls State will be held at Longwood University in June.

“Congratulations to all three of these truly remarkable young women,” the legion stated.
