Appomattox Christian Academy recently welcomed Anglican Bishop Manto to consecrate their newly renovated Rhetoric School. The Rhetoric School, comprised of students in eighth through 12th grade, will begin meeting in Boone Hall, a building donated to the school in honor of Bruce and Meredith Boone.

Appomattox Christian Academy is the oldest Christian school in Appomattox County, with an emphasis on classical education. The school is a St. Andrew’s Anglican Church mission and is accredited by the Association of Classical Christian Schools and the Anglican School Association.

“The main campus starts at K4 through eight grade,” said St. Andrew’s Rector Damien Grout. “Before COVID we had been renting a space at Liberty Baptist for the Rhetoric school, but it became a logistical problem with scheduling and arranging things while keeping COVID restrictions in place.”

Knowing there was a need for more space for the older students, Grout said, “a couple in the church, Bruce and Meredith Boone, who have been part of the church for many years, bought the building and gifted it to us.”
