Appomattox Town Council on Monday, July 11, approved a recommendation by the Planning Commission to, according to the agenda, “amend an ordinance to the Code of the Town of Appomattox, Chapter 195 … entitled Zoning, to add a new section in Article XVI entitled Signs that provides sign regulations for Public Use Districts.”
Public Use Districts includes areas such as public parks, official town buildings, public school properties and some nonprofits, according to Appomattox Zoning Administrator Rob Fowler.
Fowler spoke to town council members and stated than all other districts had formal sign regulations listed in the Code of the Town of Appomattox except those for public usage.
