Following the opening ceremonies of the Appomattox Historic Railroad Festival on Friday — the event being dedicated to the late Paul Harvey — the Courtland Festival Park Committee dedicated a park bench to his memory in a brief ceremony.

The bench is located at the park’s corner, near the intersection of Court Street and Highland Avenue.

“We’re here to dedicate this bench to the memory of Paul Harvey,” announced committee member Phil Jamerson.
