Appomattox kicked off the holiday season on Sunday with the 30th Annual Christmas Parade. At dusk, the lighting ceremony was held in Courtland Festival Park.

Attendees said they were glad it was not really cold or raining, and that it was a great day to spend with the family to get more into the holiday spirit. Huck Adams said his favorite thing was seeing Santa Claus.

Lights will be on every night until the end of 2023. The Christmas light display has been a part of the community since 2015.
