The 2022 Central Virginia 4-H/FFA Livestock Show and Sale took place Saturday, May 7, at the Lynchburg Livestock Market. Youth from Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, Charlotte, and Nelson Counties competed in classes such as: Swine Showmanship, Market Hog, Gilt Hog, Sheep Showmanship, Market Lamb, Ewe Lamb, Beef Showmanship, Market Steer, Commercial Heifer, Heifer Calf, Cow/Calf, Goat Showmanship, Market Goat, Doe Goat, and Stockman’s Contest.

The showmanship class is where the exhibitor is judged on how well they presented their animal to the judge. The market or breed class is where the animal itself is judged. Premium monies are awarded to the top five participants in each class, provided their record books were completed and turned in on time.
