The Appomattox County High School football team posted 49 unanswered points before halftime and the announcement of the Homecoming Court on Friday. The Wildcats from Dan River were on the losing end of a 63-12 game in which many of the Raiders’ starters saw little action in the second half.

The offense, once it had its turn, scored early and often, getting touchdowns both by airmail and ground delivery. Kicker Ty Robertson went 9-for-9 on extra point attempts. By the end of the game, both senior captain Tre Lawing and sophomore Gray Peterson had taken their turns at quarterback, and a freshman wide receiver was taking snaps under center.
