When the winter sports season rolls around in the 2024-25 school year, Emily Hill will not be coaching the Appomattox Raiders varsity girls basketball team because she has decided to move out of state and move on to other opportunities.
Hill resigned following her second year at the helm in 2023-24, in which the Raiders finished 17-6 overall and won the Dogwood District for the first time in school history with an 11-1 record. Hill was building a program on the rise after the team posted an 11-13 record during her inaugural 2022-23 season.
Replacing Hill as Appomattox varsity girls basketball head coach will be Herb Daniel, former girls basketball coach at Gretna High School and women’s basketball coach at the Virginia University of Lynchburg.
