As per annual custom, high school golf season in the Virginia High School League tees off before any other fall sport. On Monday, the Appomattox Raiders hosted the Raider Invitational Golf Tournament at Falling River Country Club.

Appomattox finished in second place, just one stroke behind tournament winner Jefferson Forest, 312-313.

Caitlyn Baxter of Amherst was the individual winner, topping Coleman Almond of Appomattox in a playoff. Each finished regulation play with a score of 74.
