We are excited to welcome back students on the first day of school, which is Aug. 12. Teachers and staff have been working hard this summer to prepare for your return to the 2024-25 school year. Here are a few reminders to make our opening run smoothly.

Open House: All schools will be open to students and parents to meet teachers on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 11 am. to 6 p.m. You can also drop off school supplies at this time so there is less to carry on the first day of school.

Traffic: School traffic is always heavy for the first few weeks of school. If you are not involved in school traffic, please try to avoid Appomattox Primary School at Ferguson Avenue, Appomattox Elementary School at Lee-Grant Avenue, and Appomattox Middle School at Business 460/Confederate Boulevard between the hours of 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. and 2:45 to 3:30 p.m.
