Appomattox County High School freshman softball pitcher Paisley Mann tossed a no-hitter Thursday evening as the Raiders won their 2023 postseason opener 6-0 over the Radford Bobcats in a Region 2C quarterfinal.

Mann pitched all seven innings, striking out 12 Bobcat batters. The Bobcats did not hit a fair ball past the infield for the entire game. Only two Bobcats batters were able to reach base due to Raider errors.

Sydney Bryant, a rising force in the lineup, led Appomattox offensively with three base hits and four stolen bases.

Appomattox will face the winner of tonight's matchup between Chatham and Gretna in the semifinal round, which is scheduled for 7 p.m., June 1 at Botetourt Sports Complex.
