Appomattox Raiders track and field head coach Tim Crossin reported that the junior varsity girls indoor track and field team placed second out of 14 teams that competed Saturday at the JV Invitational held at Heritage High School in Lynchburg. According to Milestat.com, the girls were edged out by one point by E.C. Glass, 118-117.
Harmony Troxler accomplished three state-leading marks in the girls long jump, girls triple jump and girls 55-meter dash. Troxler’s time in the 55-meter dash of 7.36 seconds erases the previous Appomattox County High School record set by Dominique Terry in 2007.
Troxler’s mark in the long jump was 16-feet, 3 inches. Her triple jump distance was 32-feet, 10.25 inches.
Morgan Flamm finished in first place in the girls pole vault with a height of 7 feet, 6 inches. Flamm also topped the field in the girls 500-meter dash with a time of 1:41.
The Appomattox junior varsity boys finished in sixth place.

The varsity Raiders squad is scheduled to compete today at the Fork Union Invitational at 3 p.m. The VHSL Class 1/2 Regional Championships will be held Friday, Feb. 18 in Salem at Roanoke College.
Middle School Results
Also held Saturday at Heritage High School was the Middle School Invitational, in which the Appomattox girls team took first place with 68 points, four more than runner-up Sandusky Middle School.
The Middle School Raider boys came in sixth place.
First place winners for the girls were Caitlyn Angstadt in the girls 55-meter hurdles in a time of 11.92 seconds, and Eryn Flamm with a girls high jump of 3 feet 10 inches.
