On Thursday night, Feb. 23, members of the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office and Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department played a basketball game against the Appomattox Middle School (AMS) eighth grade team. The event was a fundraiser for the AMS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
The AMS team won by a score of 59-57.
Appomattox Fire Chief Jonathan Garrett said over $1,500 was raised to go toward AMS student activities.
