It was a meeting of the bands for a worthy cause Saturday evening at Bull Daddy’s Sports Bar and Grill in Appomattox. The local venue hosted a Relay for Life of Appomattox fundraiser that brought in five music acts, lots of music fans, and a goal-surpassing amount of funds.
Crystal Butler, fundraising coordinator for Relay for Life, was pleased with both the turnout of both the musicians and the supporters.
“They’re all volunteering” their time and talent, she noted of the bands. “They’re a great bunch of people.”
She also praised the great turnout and the fundraising success of the event for the charitable organization. The event yielded $1,205 for Relay for Life of Appomattox, Butler reported, more than doubling her goal of $500.
