Cornerstone Christian Academy’s Parent Teacher Fellowship hosted its 11th annual Chili Cookoff event Oct. 26. Every year, the event invites the community to showcase their culinary skills and compete for first place in the chili competition.

Competing chili dishes ranged from hot to sweet and showcased various meats. Sheriff candidates Chris Sams and Donnie Simpson found themselves at the event, serving up samples of the chili to attendees.

Drawings, vendors, a pumpkin competition and costume competition also were part of the evening’s activities as well as live music by the Gene Williams Band. Appomattox Rocks was present at the event with their free rock painting station.
