The Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) and Appomattox County Rescue Squad hosted a joint emergency preparedness training session on April 20 at 6 p.m. at the UVA Dialysis Clinic in Appomattox, which is located at The Shoppes of Appomattox Shopping Center.

The session was a full-scale exercise with emergency vehicles and first responders, replicating a real-life emergency fire situation.

Delta Response Team and the Concord Volunteer Fire Department also participated.
