Update:

The accident scene along U.S. Route 460 West in Appomattox County is now cleared and traffic is free to travel normally. Injuries were reported, and the injured were transported to Lynchburg General Hospital.

Arriving at the scene were several crews from the Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department, Appomattox County Rescue Squad, Delta Response Team, Appomattox County Sheriff's Office and Virginia State Police.

Traffic heading eastbound on U.S. Route 460 outside of Appomattox should be aware to drive slowly near the intersection of Little Dogwood Road due to a multiple-vehicle accident involving three vehicles.
