Council considers bonus for deputies

On Monday, Dec. 14, Appomattox County Sheriff Donald Simpson appeared before the Appomattox Town Council to request a bonus for his deputies.

The sheriff’s office has 13 state-funded positions and seven locally funded positions — five of the latter are funded by the county, and two are funded by the town.
