As the investigation continues, Virginia State Police was able to view video obtained from the tanker truck. The video revealed that due to driver distraction, the Milan drifted over the center line and struck the rear of the Ford. The oncoming tanker truck was unable to avoid the Milan as it crossed into its lane and stuck the front of it.

A Farmville driver died Tuesday morning after striking two vehicles while attempting to pass a stopped vehicle, according to Virginia State Police.
At 7:42 a.m. Tuesday, state police responded to the multi-vehicle crash on Route 60 just west of Route 45 North (Cartersville Road).
A 2008 Mercury Milan was traveling east in a no-passing zone when the driver attempted to pass a 1994 Ford Ranger that was stopped in the lane. The Milan moved into the westbound lane as a 2007 Kenworth tanker truck was approaching. The Milan attempted to merge back into the eastbound lane and in doing so struck the Ford and struck the tanker truck.
The driver of the Milan, Jennifer L. Johnson, 32, of Farmville, died at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the tanker truck went to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the Ford and one occupant also went to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
