Miguel Grandos, 27, of Blackstone, pleaded guilty to six drug-related charges and was sentenced to serve seven years behind bars.
Before reading the sentence Jan. 13, Circuit Court Judge Andy Nelson described the drug ring Grandos was involved in as a “significant criminal enterprise” and said the amount of drugs seized was of a “serious nature.”
Defense attorney Scott DeBruin stated that the driver of the vehicle, a female, was the actual distributor and that Grandos was present for armed protection.
The charges included four felonies: distribution of methamphetamine weighing over 10 grams, conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine weighing over 10 grams, displaying a firearm while selling a Schedule I or II drug, and possession of a firearm while selling a Schedule I or II drug. The two misdemeanors were contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
