With summer well underway and the return of classes on the near horizon, Appomattox County Public Schools (ACPS) is winding down its summer project list that has been in full swing since the 2023-24 school calendar year ended in May.

The renovation project at Appomattox County High School (ACHS) is in its final phase, according to ACPS Superintendent Annette Bennett.

“We’re extremely thrilled that we’re coming to the end of the complete renovation of the high school,” Bennett said. “When we first started this, I don’t know if we ever dreamed that we would be able to get everything done, and I’m just thrilled that we’ve been able to nickel-and-dime every grant and every source of funding that we could to put together a complete renovation of our high school. So, we’re very excited about that.”

The ACHS auditorium will sport a new look with new seating and newly painted ceilings.

Raider student-athletes and sports fans will appreciate renovations to the ACHS gymnasium, locker rooms, athletic medical training room, tennis courts, and outdoor track.
