This afternoon at 3 p.m. residents and staff at the Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center in Appomattox were treated with an opportunity to get out in the fresh air and enjoy a local parade in their honor.

Several dozen residents sat outdoors, alongside Rehab staff members, holding signs and balloons as family members and friends drove by in their automobiles to greet them. Because of current COVID-19 restrictions, close personal interaction is not permitted but seeing their loved ones put a smile on the faces of many residents.

Other parade participants driving through in their vehicles included local emergency workers and other organizations.
