C.E. Adams wins three VPA awards

C.E. Adams of the Times Virginian won three Virginia Press Association Awards recently. He won third place in the breaking news photo category for this photo of a garage fire April 24, 2019, on Stonewall Road in the Oakville area of Appomattox County. Adams also won third place in the headline writing category, which included the articles "Man gets 5 years for shooting wife; wife was shot in the head, forgave him" and "Two cars hit cow" next to "Fence-In ordinance falls short." In addition, Adams won third place in the general makeup category for the newspaper, along with Charles Conrad and Lizbeth Nauta for the Feb. 20, March 27 and April 17 issues of the Times Virginian.
