Appomattox Farmer’s Bank hub for (limited) mask distribution

Cindy Hall, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and The Farmer’s Bank of Appomattox, decided to share her surplus of face masks with the community of Appomattox County. The masks can be obtained by making the request to the tellers at the Appomattox branch.

When the COVID-19 precautions began in Virginia and across the nation, Hall said masks were needed by health professionals — and that they were hard to come by.

“We were being told we shouldn’t buy masks because they need to go to the medical personnel, explained Hall. “OK, so we didn’t wear masks, we didn’t have masks, we couldn’t find masks.

But as time wore on, the public was then encouraged to wear masks in public.

Hall said she eventually became curious and logged on to the Internet, surprised to find masks were available for online orders.

“So anyway, I did buy masks — about 120 of them. And they’re the blue ones on one side and white on the other side, she explained. “The delivery said it was going to be May 10 or something like that, but they came last week.
