One-vehicle accident on Wheelers Spring Road upends car, utility pole

At 6 p.m. this evening, a one-car accident occurred in the vicinity of 9266 Wheelers Spring Road in Appomattox County.

The vehicle knocked over a utility pole and flipped onto its rooftop. The pole was severed and fell to the ground beside the car with several wires also downed.

There was at least one reported injury on the initial call by emergency dispatch, but no information was provided at the scene of the accident.

Arriving at the scene were the Red House Volunteer Fire Department, Appomattox County Rescue Squad, Appomattox County Sheriff's Department and Virginia State Police.
