Anyone who accesses the Appomattox Medical Center website will only find a message stating that the center has permanently closed, effective today.

Appomattox Medical Center is located in the Triangle Shopping Center off of Old Courthouse Road.

Patients are being encouraged to find another health provider as soon as possible to ensure that their health needs are met.

Upon finding a new physician, the physician may request the patient's medical records by faxing (434) 352-5005.

Those who are unsure of where to find a new physician are advised to contact their insurance company to learn which providers are covered in their network.

No explanation for the closing was provided in the website announcement.
