The Appomattox County Militia, Community & Disaster organization held its first annual elections on Thursday, Dec. 2, at the New Geneva Christian Education Center.

The group, having formed in 2021, has elected the following members to the Board of Directors: Tom Adams, chairman; Lannis Selz, treasurer; and Paul Leming, secretary.Along with Brett Pace, Patrick Walsh and Kelly Leming, these members will serve the organization for the upcoming 2022 year.

The AxMCDR is forming committees and units to help serve the group’s expectations of providing the residents and government agencies with the assistance they need during emergency and disaster situations.
