Three girls finish first to open indoor track season

The Appomattox Raiders indoor track and field team has begun their 2021/22 season with two events held so far, and three members of the girls team taking first place in their respective events. 

On Dec. 1, the Raiders opened the season with a trip to Hampton for the Lampert Timing Indoor Track Meet held at the Boo Williams Sportsplex. The girls team finished third overall.

Dezyre Christian finished first in the girls 55-meter dash with a time of 8.49 seconds. Also in first place for the Raiders was Morgan Flamm in the girls pole vault with a height of 7 feet 6 inches. Whitney Anderson won the girls shot put with a distance of 25 feet 7.5 inches.
