At 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning, the Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department with Appomattox County Rescue Squad and Concord Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched for a reported structure fire.

While in route Appomattox VFD requested that Pamplin Volunteer Fire Department be added to the call.

Crews arrived on scene and found a garage with heavy fire involvement and was threatening to spread to another nearby structure. Crews worked for several hours to extinguish the fire. Units worked for 3-4 hours to contain and extinguish the fire. The fire was contained to one structure. There were no injuries.

AVFD units on scene Engine 1, Engine 3, Tanker 5 and Command 1. Appomattox Sheriffs Office was also on scene. CVFD units on scene were Engine 13-2, Rescue 13, Tanker 13-3 and Tanker 13-4.
