Appomattox Militia adds new members, three take oaths

On Thursday, Aug. 5, the Appomattox County Militia held a recruiting night and added 14 new members to it ranks.

People of all age groups and skill sets signed up to become members of the militia. Three members filled their requirements, took the oath and received their patches making them full voting members.

Those members were sworn in by secretary Lannis Selz in a short ceremony during the meeting.
