One of four co-defendants charged in a Jan. 27 Appomattox County home invasion pleaded no contest to eight felony charges Thursday in Appomattox County Circuit Court.

Melvin Edward Lee Martin, 31, of Appomattox, is charged with two counts of armed burglary, two counts of robbery, two counts of abduction by force, one count of use of a firearm in a felony and one count of possession of a weapon by a violent felon.

Martin’s defense attorney, Craig Tiller, said that although Martin disputes certain details of the case against him, he stipulates there is enough evidence to convict him at trial.
